Uneasy, yet mesmerizing.

Like stumbling into something sinister what will make sure that whatever you just witnessed will not leave the place with you.

Production is also really good. Although if i would change anything, i would try to add a bit more power to the verse. Currently there is a noticable contrast between the lyrical verses and drops. Maybe bringing out the distortion guitar more or making vocals more crisp and loud. However these are just ideas from an observer and then again, its nothing distracting, but i find it would make it a bit more consistent and powerful experience.

Good job :)

DocJay responds:

Glad you liked it! :D and thank you for the tips, our aim is to experiment as much as possible to test our limits and hopefully expand them!

Your work has so much variety in terms of genre and feel.
I wholeheartedly respect that

This is track is yet another supporting argument for that to me

Find myself coming back to this from time to time. Really hard to forget melody and synth just come back to haunt me.

Although i have listened to your more recent work and they are of better quality, i still consider this to be one of your more iconic tracks. Really solid work

When i think of you, i think of this. You have cemented yourself into my mind with this and im not complaining :)

JaThu responds:

I'm speechless, thank you for this, really. The one reason that keeps me going is trying to help people through their day by offering a distraction, so this comment really means a lot, even if its an old track, sometimes its the most unexpected things that stick to us xD so, again, thank you a lot.

I'm not posting on this account atm because we started a duo with a friend, you can find us as DocJay here or Dr. J on youtube.

Absolutely impeccable

Very cinematic and ominous.

I love the feeling of looming doom those ambient drones and subtle impacts create. And when that dry impact starts building up, it envokes feelings of true desperation. As if whatever is overseeing this nightmarish landscape knows you are here and is getting closer.

A powerful, yet hopelessly dreadful experience.

Truly airy and open. he intro has that amazing sense of discovery, yet somewhat bittersweet undertone. When the bass and drums come in it gives of a sense of endeavour. Like a progression to a final goal. However when the synth flows in at 3:11 it combines both aspects introduced in previous sections: Uncertain, debaiting thoughts within the constant venture towards something. All that builds up to surprisingly cathardic climax at 4:22. The outro is as sweet as the intro, being the end for the current yearning, but leaving room for future adventures and wants.

On technical aspects it is also of quality. Cant bring up anything that bothered me in particular. Maybe some high plucky instruments could've been a little quieter here-or-there, but as it is, it does not damage the experience in the slightest.

Overall a spectacular journey :)

SkyeWint responds:

Oh wow, thank you! That's such a nice review, I'm really thankful. It was so much fun (though a lot of work) to make, too. I hope I can continue with more journeys in the future!

Glorious!

Clean highs and strong lows combined with its playful harmonics make the drop and its sounds hit all the right places for me.

Amazing job :D

DrayxMusic responds:

Thank you! <3

Small and neat.

You may lower the hi-hats, but it is not really a bothering factor. One thing you can do to give it more life is to play around with the velocity of those keys. It sounds a little flat, as if every key is pressed with equal force. Doing so would give it more dynamic and organic feeling.

Otherwise its a pretty fun listen

Tangerine responds:

Oh, thank you for the helpful feedback. Helpful people who give feedback are surprisingly hard to find (excluding you 50steaks). Thank you. I'm just a little scared to add more dynamics because if they're used too much then they may become extremely distracting.

Beautiful and calm.
Although its a game of which i do not share too many fond memories of, i believe it still captures its heart for those who do.

Overall a great tribute to a great game :)

Im not in a position to give correct commentary about the message, however i still want to give my thoughts on the composition itself. To put it straight: it feels weak and a little silly at parts. It didnt feel like it handled this particular topic in its seriousness, but rather in a somewhat inappopriate whimsical tone. The whole experience feels light, therefore stripping the whole message from its seriousness.
Although i see the intent in the lyrics, it is light and unremarkable in its execution, representing a serious topic in a seemingly silly way.

I understand what the intention is, but it does not convey this believeably.

ZipZipper responds:

So actually, you do understand the message if you can comprehend a disconnect between the style? The reason I do it in such a way is because the movement itself is the culmination of exhaustion having to convince White people of such a painfully simple message. So, the lighthearted sound is a way to express how eagerly optimistic some of us are to move on, and perhaps also a way to get the really stupid people to internalize the message. Clearly, I've underestimated the moral stupidity of people, because even though they say they don't get it...they're getting confused or mad at this lol
